What is Honda Sensing?

What is Honda Sensing?

Honda strives to provide a high level of protection, and Honda Sensing™ technologies help ensure all the passengers’ safety. Whether you’re driving or sitting in the passenger seat, Honda Sensing™ is designed with a collection of driver-assist and collision prevention technologies. Standard across many of our new Honda models, Honda Sensing has your protection in mind. Below are the features Honda Sensing provides:

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system

The FCW system is designed to detect the presence of vehicles in front of you. The system will issue an audible, visual and tactile alerts if you’re approaching the car ahead with too much speed.

Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS®)

The CMBS system is engineered to apply light brake pressure if you don’t respond to the FCW system alerts to help reduce a frontal accident. If it still senses a collision, it will apply the brakes forcefully.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system

If your vehicle starts to drift into another detected lane without using a signal, the LWD system will issue visual and tactile alerts.

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

The LKAS system is designed to gently correct your steering if you begin to leave a detected lane without signalling by applying torque to the steering to guide you back to the centre of the lane.

Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) system

If the RDM system detects that your vehicle may be leaving the road, the system will help steer and even apply the brakes.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow

The ACC helps you keep a constant speed and set the following interval behind a vehicle detected in front of you. The system also gives you the ability to start and stop the vehicle with the flow of traffic.

Additional Safety Features:

As a Honda vehicle owner, you can feel secure with even more driver-assist features:

HondaLink:

When you need help the most, the available Assist Automatic Emergency Response System is there for you. If your vehicle’s airbags deploy, your Display Audio System is engineered to automatically attempt to put you on a call with an operator who can forward your location to first responders if needed. This system works with any compatible Bluetooth®-paired phone as long as it has reception. HondaLink does not require a subscription and gives you added peace of mind on the road.

Child Safety:

Many of our new models feature childproof rear door locks and rear-seat Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH). It gives you a simple and convenient method to install a child safety seat without using your vehicle seat belt system.

Hill Start Assist:

If you take your foot off the brake when you’re stopped on an incline, Hill Start Assist is designed to help prevent your Honda from starting to roll backwards.

With Honda Sensing advanced technology, Honda created a way forward that everyone can feel good about. With intuitive technology and design, we’ve created a way forward that we can all feel good about. Many of our new vehicles feature Honda Sensing.
