The compact crossover segment has seen a big rise in popularity over the years, becoming a segment that attracts buyers from all over the market. Formula Honda of Toronto is glad to carry the top of the line CR-V that is celebrating its 20th anniversary. How does the 2017 compact crossover fare across the board?

The CR-V now has a more striking design language to look more muscular/athletic with high-mounted headlamps, aggressive fascia, dual exhaust outlets and more chrome accents. There is more ground clearance to benefit taller customers looking for more space.

The interior of the 2017 CR-V goes away with the hard plastic parts and instead has cabin surfaces that are soft to touch. The dash has a better, more modern design flow and the steering wheel is smaller and more contoured. The 7-inch touchscreen (EX trim and up) comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Audio, satellite radio and an upgraded multi-angle rearview cam.

Seating in the rear is more spacious than other competitors in this segment as Honda added two extra inches of rear legroom. The cargo space has also increased by two cubic feet, allowing 39.2 cubic feet of cargo room when the second row is upright and 75.8 cubic feet when they are lowered.

The CR-V comes in four trims – LX, EX, EX-L and Touring. Driving the CR-V is easy and it’s very quick and responsive to commands. Saving money at the gas station is a Honda tradition and the CR-V doesn’t disappoint with 32 miles per gallon highway and 26 miles per gallon city.
