We’re happy to inform our enthusiasts that the long wait for the forbidden fruit of the Honda Type R performance is nearly over.”


Civic Type R Performance

The Type R is expected to live up to its lofty reputation. It features an Ohio-built, 2.0 liter, turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine that produces 306 horsepower and 295 pound feet of torque. This powerful engine is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission driving the front wheels through a limited slip differential.


Some performance upgrades include a new Dual-Axis front suspension, adaptive steering and four-wheel adaptive dampers. In addition, Honda reduced the weight by 35 pounds and stiffened the body by as much as 45%.


The interior is available with a touch-screen infotainment system, a 12-speaker 540-watt stereo and heavily bolstered sports seats.
