Our Favorite Places To Ice Skate In TorontoMar 13rd, 2017
Our #FormulaHonda staff loves to take in the winter and enjoy what the city of Toronto has to offer. One of the hallmarks of winter is ice skating and there are plenty of options to choose from. Our staff has listed some of these outdoor locations below and are our personal recommendations for you to enjoy.
The Natrel Rink
This popular free rink by the lake is in Harbourfront Centre and is complete with heated indoor change rooms and its own rinkside bar and grill. Every Saturday evening, Natrel hosts a DJ skate night for a combination of skating and clubbing.
Nathan Phillips Square
In front of City Hall, this rink can get crowded. However you can’t beat the location in the middle of the city. Think of it as Toronto’s Rockefeller Center.
Evergreen Brick Works
Evergreen skating trail in the Don Valley will make you feel like you’re skating into the country without leaving the city. This is a family friendly rink, as they offer helmets for all skaters under 18.
Dufferin Grove Park
This neighborhood rink adjacent to Dufferin Mall attracts people from all over town. You can skate all day and then take a break to walk in the park, book a bonfire pit and warm up with hot chocolate in the clubhouse and Zamboni Cafe.
On the west-side, this popular rink is at the bottom of the park’s “bowl”. It is a sunny and great destination for families and Annex residents.
Mel Lastman Square
For those up north who don’t want to make the trip downtown, this is the biggest and best local one at the North York Centre. You can join public skating and pickup hockey sessions and stay hydrated at the refreshment bar.
These fantastic ice rinks to choose from should be enough for you to figure out where you want to go next. We hope you enjoy your time there and we invite you to come visit Formula Honda, as well.
