There are plenty of great places to eat in the city of Toronto, but a perfect dish for sharing with other are nachos. In this article, we are going to go over what the #FormulaHonda family recommends for finding the best nachos in town.

Sneaky Dee’s

First off, Sneaky Dee’s nachos comes with fresh, house-made ingredients and a long lasting reputation. They have Vegan, Veggie, Greek, Hawaiian and “Cactus in the Valley” to choose from. For an extra spice, add their house branded hot sauce.

Hair of the Dog

Home-made corn and flour tortilla chips make Hair of the Dog stand out with a different crunch and taste. Tomatoes, ground chorizo, scallions, jalapenos, Greek olives, mozzarella and cheddar cheese are some of the many toppings you can choose from.

Playa Cabana

Nachos a la Plancha are served pizza-style, with house-made griddled corn tortillas covered in creamy Oaxacan cheese. A distinct flavour comes from the smokiness and is paired with the spiciness of Guajillo sauce and chorizo. To top it off, Playa Cabana is also known for their tequila selection.

 

Utopia Cafe and Grill

With veggie, chicken, steak, shrimp, or “Utopia,” (chicken and steak) there are plenty of options to choose from. Toppings can be selected from fried jalapenos, guacamole, cheddar and Monterrey jack cheeses, vegetarian chili and in-house fried chips. Meals can be served on a flour tortilla with a side of spicy salsa.

 

The Drake Hotel

A simple yet eloquent serving of nachos, The Drake’s nachos are out to reinvent the classics. The most recommended dish are The Lobster nachos, with jalapenos giving the lobster a nice kick and Mornay sauce bringing it all together.

 

The Dock Ellis

These Wonton nachos are one of a kind, made with in-house fried wonton chips, ground chorizo, mixed beans, peppers, jalapenos, tomatoes, crema, various herbs and blossoms. Other menu options include Chorizo, Bean and Supreme (chorizo and bean).

 

The Cadillac Lounge

The meat variant for nachos, options include pulled chicken or pork, both of which are smoked for at least six hours. With Memphis barbecue sauce, you’ll find a real distinct taste that you won’t find anywhere else. Toppings are chopped tomatoes, green onions, jalapenos and melted cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

 

The Kennedy Public House

The special order here is called the El Kennedio with kettle-cooked corn tortilla chips, bell peppers, marinated tomatoes, jalapeno and banana peppers, pinto and chorizo beans and jack cheese sauce with salsa, lime ancho sour cream on the side. Other choices are steak, grilled chicken, pulled pork or baked beans.

 

Junked Food Co.

The must-try here are Doritos Smash Bags, they contain lettuce, cheddar, pico, olives, sour cream, chili sauce and jalapenos and are topped with your choice of mac and cheese, Dr Pepper pulled pork with jolly rancher BBQ sauce, butter chicken or Greek ingredients. The original recipe is vegetarian, starting with you choice of either Cool Ranch or Zesty Cheese Doritos, then stuffed with vegetable fixings.
