CR-V Reviews From The Web:
Car and Driver: says the 2017 Honda CR-V is: “The new CR-V’s three best assets are that it seems rather quiet for this class, showing excellent cabin isolation on our drive; the steering is typically Honda terrific; and the interior is generous enough that some people eyeing larger SUVs might be lured into the CR-V”.
Edmunds.com: “The styling has gone from anonymous to awesome, led by an aggressive new front fascia, reshaped rear windows and sculpted haunches that convey a surprising muscularity.”
The 2017 Honda CR-V and the 2017 Toyota RAV4 are both leaders in the compact SUV category. Both vehicles are roomy and comfortable, probably two of the most spacious SUVs you can buy. Versatility isn’t an issue with either model, as every inch in both vehicles are usable space. Each SUV comes loaded with features, even at the base model. If you’re wondering which vehicle you should be buying, the 2017 Honda CR-V or the 2017 Toyota RAV4, we’d better take a look to see how they match up.
Engine, Horsepower & Fuel Economy
Both the 2017 CR-V and the 2017 RAV4 host a 4-cylinder engine among all trim levels. Although similar, the CR-V engine pushes a lot more power to your wheels – 190 horsepower to be exact. The RAV4 falls behind, literally with a meager 179 hp engine.
Spending money on gas isn’t worry with the 2017 CR-V as it earns 8.4 L/100Km city, 7.0 L/100Km hwy. The RAV4 is comparable with 10.0 L/100Km city and 7.8 L/100 Km, but definitely not as efficient.
Seats & Space
If there’s one thing the CR-V and RAV4 have in common, it’s a lot of space. The CR-V holds 5 passengers very, very comfortably. The seats have an easy fold-down 60/40 split rear seatback, and lots of cargo space – 1100L to be exact. The RAV4 also seats 5 passengers and showcases a 60/40 rear fold down. The cargo capacity (from the rear seat and back) tops off at 38.4 cubic feet – that’s about 1087 litres. While the cargo space is very close for both vehicles, but the CR-V does exceed the RAV4 by 10+ litres.
The 2017 CR-V offers the latest in-vehicle connectivity and audio performance with a new generation of technologies. It comes built with a 7-inch standard touch screen interface, Apple CarPlay/Andriod Auto and GPS Navagation. One of our favourite CR-V technology features is the return of the volume knob! The knob replaced the touch screen volume control showcased on its predecessor. The RAV4 is no slouch when it comes to technology either. The SUV boasts a 6” display screen, radio connectivity including SiriusXM, many speakers and USB/Auxiliary input jacks. In the end, we find the CR-V offers more convenience features when it comes to technology.
The 2017 Honda CR-V is the obvious choice!
