Honda has announced the all-new 2017 CRV for launch this winter. Honda’s fifth generation compact SUV has an entirely new design and structure. This CRV has set the bar higher than ever before with its creative styling, premium interior and turbocharged engine along with all of the expected bells and whistles that Honda is known for. The all-new CRV will definitely provide some exceptional competition to the compact SUV marketplace.

The 2017 CRV is looking to set itself above the competition by flexing its fenders and shining its wing-inspired LEDs available on all trim levels. You’ll notice the overall look to be more crisp and sharper looking than previous generations. Its potentially aggressive display is curbed by its illumined sophistication and athletically-built platform. The extended hood and wheelbase are complimented well with a slight rear overhang and dual exhaust tips.

This year’s CRV will boast for the first time a turbocharged engine with an enhanced 1.5-litre DOHC, direct-injected 4-cylinder block with pushing 190 horsepower. The 2017 engine is upgraded with a faster response for greater performance. Fuel economy is poised to be among the top ratings in the compact SUV class thanks to the upgraded engine and CRV’s redesigned aerodynamic structure. To cap it all off, the 1.5-litre turbo engine is paired with a smooth-driving continuously variable transmission (CVT) fitted with Honda’s G-Shift technology.

With the 2017 CRV’s upgraded body structure called Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE), Honda is striving to capture an NCAP 5-star score from the NHTSA and IIHS. Honda Sensing will provide an even greater rating for preventing front-end collisions to keep occupants safe with peace of mind during their drive. Production for the 2017 CRV will be solely in North America including Canada’s own Alliston plant, along with Ohio as well as the inaugural Indiana plant. Stay tuned for more updates from Formula Honda as they come!
